Chapters

I did not want chapter numbers in my novel, but decided to introduce each chapter with a nursery rhyme touch, as a mother I relished this linguistic part of teaching language to young children, here they are (in numerical order hehe).

(1.)

‘¡Agua Cerveza Coca-Cola!’

(2.)

Cho-co-la-te, choco-choco-lala, choco-choco-tete
Choco-la, choco-te, choco-late …

(3.)

So hush little baby,
Don’t you cry,
Mama’s gonna sing you a lullaby.

(4.)

Hickory dickory dock.
The mouse ran up the clock.

(5.)

Star light, star bright,
The first star I see tonight.
I wish I may,
I wish I might,
Have the wish I wish tonight.

(6.)

‘The wheels on the bus go round and round …’

(7.)

If you’re happy and you know it,
Clap your hands.

(8.)

La cucaracha, la cucaracha
Ya no puede caminar.

(9.)

Humpty Dumpty sat on a wall.
Humpty Dumpty had a great fall.
All the King’s horses and all the King’s men
Couldn’t put Humpty together again.

(10.)

Lullaby, and good night
You’re your mother’s delight
Shining angels beside
My darling abide.

(11.)

I like coffee
I like tea
I like another boy
And he likes me

(12.)

Georgie Porgie, pudding and pie,
Kissed the girls and made them cry …

(13.)

Polly put the kettle on!

(14.)

Twinkle, twinkle, little star,
How I wonder what you are …

(15.)

Here we go looby loo
Here we go looby light

(16.)

Fiddle-dee-dee fiddle dee-dee
The fly wants to marry the bumble bee …

(17.)

Little Tommy Tucker,
Sings for his supper.
How will he be married
Without a wife?

(18.)

‘I saw a ship a-sailing,
A-sailing on the sea …’

(19.)

Rock-a-bye baby, in the treetop.
When the wind blows, the cradle will rock.

(20.)

‘La manta al coll i el cabasset,
mos n’anirem al Postiguet …’
